GOODWELL, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggie Women's Basketball team hosted Langston University Lions tonight in the Anchor D. Arena. This was the first home game for the Aggies since Dec. 7th, 2021, and this game did not disappoint. Fans were on the edge of their seats down to the final minutes with 3 tied scores and 4 lead changes. Unfortunately, the Lions would come away with the W.
Each quarter, the Aggies continued to push the Lions into a corner. The Aggies outrebounded the Lions 37 to 31 and had 9 steals to the Lions 8. The Aggies would come alive third quarter, shooting 53.3% from the field and nearly 44% from the perimeter. The Aggies would also hold the Lions' lead scorer to 6 points on the night. However, the Lions' lead was too much for the Aggies to close in and dropped the season rematch to the Lions 65-77.
Senior
Cassia McCaskill led the Aggies on the offensive and defensive ends. McCaskill had 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals. The Aggies had two more in double digits for scoring following McCaskill's lead. Sophomore
Bianca Camello had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. And senior
Vanessa Gonzalez had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and an assist.
The Aggies will remain at the Anchor D this week and host Central Christian College (Kansas) with a tip-off time of 2 pm.
