OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State University were competing in the Sooner Athletic Conference versus the Evangels of Mid-American Christian University as the second half began. Both teams enter the match having finished first half of conference play with a record of 6 – 4, and they will be vying to determine who will emerge in fourth place. The Aggies earned a 3-1 victory in the most recent matchup that took place at Goodwell.
The Aggies and the Evangels squared up against one another in tonight's encounter. On the service line and along the net, both sides played with a lot of aggression and tenacity. In the first and third sets, there were a few exchanges in who was in the lead as well as a few tied scores. Despite this, the Evangels were successful in sweeping the Aggies, winning 25-20, 25-23, and 25-21 respectively. Thus, the Aggies and Evangels are 1-1 this season.
Freshman
Bryanna Rosario led the Aggies in production with ten kills and a hitting percentage of.219, while junior
Angela Youngs contributed nine kills and a hitting percentage of.241 on the night. For the Aggies, the senior
Rebecca Candido contributed four kills and hit.231 with the ball.
Ebony Dykes and
Laren Baldowsky led the Aggies to a 7–6 victory over the Evangels in the defensive battle of block attempts.
Gracie Soza, a junior who plays libero, led the team with 20 digs, followed by
Lesly Galarza (16 digs), and
Essence West (15 digs).
Tomorrow at one o'clock in the afternoon, the Aggies will be traveling to Chickasha, Oklahoma, to compete against the University of Science and Arts (USAO).
