Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LANGSTON, Okla. - The Oklahoma Panhandle State softball team completed their third conference sweep of the season against the Langston Lions.

Once again the Aggie bats lit up the box score against their opponent for a convincing win. Now reaching double-digit hits in four consecutive games. Aggie pitching would highlight the game as well, allowing only five hits in game three.

The Aggie's series finale against the Langston Lions would not diverge from the previous three. The Aggie offense showed their strength in the box and the pitching showed their toughness in the circle.

Game 1

Looking to secure another conference series victory, Panhandle State sent ace Sarah Conley to the circle. Conley looked to reach her 200th strikeout as an Aggie against the Lions. Once again throwing a complete game on the way to her ninth win of the season. Striking out 10 Lions in the process. Now sitting just six strikeouts away from 200.

The Aggie bats would not take their feet off the gas in game three. Taking an early lead in the first due to Kinize Jones. The Aggies and Lions would take a tie into the top of the third before center fielder Brielee Danielle was sent to the plate. Leading off the seven run inning for the Aggies with a triple.

Panhandle State would have five consecutive baserunners in the third. Danielle would break the tie after a Lion error before Kayli Grove and Kaitlyn Lord broke it open with RBI singles. Joey Fowler would get in on the action with a sacrifice fly to bring home Grove. First baseman Tatum Trester would swing the momentum in the favor of the Aggies with a two-run home run.
Danielle would hit her second triple of the inning to extend the Aggie lead to 7 to 1.

Wanting to see an early end to the contest, Fowler and Jones would lead the inning off with singles. Danielle would bring around her second RBI of the day with a single to right field. Kinzie Jones would follow up with a two-run home run. Putting the Aggies up by twelve heading into the bottom of the fifth. Conley made light work of the Lion batters to secure the run-rule and series victory.

 Game 2

The Aggies were determined to pull out the sweep of the Lions. However, things look dire early on in the series finale. But the Aggies would pull together and secure the series sweep.

Sophomore Kenley Yocom earned her seventh win of the season in the finale. Tossing five innings and allowing only a single earned run on four hits before making way for Rylin Baker. Baker would complete the contest for the Aggies. Tossing the remaining two innings while allowing only one hit.

As it has been so far this season the Aggie bats can dig themselves out of any hole they dig. The Lions would find the scoreboard first and go up two to nothing by the third inning off of Aggie errors. Panhandle State would be able to cut the lead in half in the top part of the third thanks to an RBI single from Kayli Grove

With defensive struggles keeping the Lions in the game, the Aggie bats need to break the game open in a hurry. Trester would start the process off for the Aggies in the top of the fourth with a single. Danielle and Saur would bring around two runs with singles of their own before Kinzie Jones launched her second home run of the series to extend the Aggie lead to 6-2. Lord would add another one in the inning to cap off the six-run top of the fourth for the Aggies.

Yocom and Baker would dial in on the Lion batters and allow only one more run to cross home plate. The Aggie offense would look to score some insurance in the latter part of the game. Grove and Saur would come thru by bringing around three more for the Aggies in the sixth and seventh. Sending the Aggies on their way to their fourteenth conference victory.

Panhandle State softball heads back to Jim Quimby Field for a mid-week conference series against the Central Christian Tigers. Starting Tuesday, April 19th at 1 PM.
