Aggies comeback Falls short

GOODWELL, Okla- The Aggies women's basketball faced Southwestern Assemblies of God University Saturday afternoon. 

Sophomore Mariah Williams would get the first basket of the game. Both teams would keep the game close. The Aggies would be down by four at the 2:10 mark; the Lions would close out the quarter by making a layup and a three-pointer changing the score to 13-22. 

At the start of the second quarter, the Lions would strike a three-pointer moving up by 12. Sophomore Chevelle Ralstin would answer with a good three-pointer getting within 9 points. The Aggies would stand within 6 points of the Lions; with 27 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, Junior Bianca Camello would get a jump shot, her first bucket of the quarter. The Lions would respond with a layup, including a free throw going back up by 9. 


After the half, The Aggies would start a 5-2 run reaching within 5 points. Junior Sierra Tate made an incredible layup at the 6:15, mark, scoring 41-44. Lions would drive their lead up by 10 with 1:03 left in the game. Camello would nail a three-point play, followed by Senior Tateum Jones with a layup getting back within 5 points.

The Aggies would be down by seven in the last quarter with under 5 minutes left. Jones and Tate assisted the Aggies within 1 point of the game; Tate would tie the game with 36 seconds left, attempting to force it into overtime. With 18 seconds left, the Lions would hit the game-winning three to lock the game, making the final score 72-70.

The women's basketball team will travel to Southwestern Christian University as a part of a three-game road trip. The tip-off will be at 6:00 PM.
