GOODWELL, Okla- The Aggies baseball team opened their season in Mesa, AZ taking part in the Coaches Calderone Invitational, and last year the Aggies took part in this Honorable event.
The Aggies faced Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (AZ) Thursday afternoon.
Junior Ryota Kusumoto would record his first hit as an Aggie in the top of the first. The Eagles would open the scoring in the bottom of the inning, taking an early 0-3 lead. The Eagles would seal the Game in the third inning, going up by six runs.
Ryota Kusumoto would finish 2-4, and Freshman Aamir Magras also go 2-4.
Starting pitcher Kiebert Medina pitched six innings giving up nine earned runs off of seven hits.
After the Game, head coach Shawn Joy shared, "We beat ourselves today; we gave away too much."
Aggies will play a doubleheader tomorrow, game one will be at 11:00 AM, and Game two will be at 3:00 PM.
