Oklahoma Panhandle State University Women's Volleyball team delivered an impressive performance in a resounding victory over Wayland Baptist University. The Aggies swept the Pioneers in three sets, with final scores of 25-17, 25-22, and 25-21.
Head Coach Nick Serowski attributed the team's success to their enhanced approach to accountability this season. He stated, "We are really big on accountability. In this second half, we've shifted our focus to being more supportive and encouraging, rather than merely calling people out. This change in our approach has transformed the dynamics of how we perceive accountability."
The Aggies' exceptional teamwork and determination were evident from the beginning of the match. They dominated the court with a remarkable .236 hit percentage, while their opponents, the Pioneers, struggled with a .092 hit percentage throughout the game.
Ava Newby emerged as a standout player, leading the attack with an impressive double-digit kill count of 10. Joelle LaForce was not far behind, contributing 9 kills to the team's victory. The outsides, Taylore Alsaid and Bryanna Rosario, each added 7 kills to the scoreboard. Alsaid also showed out on defensive end with an impressive 21 digs, while Rosario chipped in with 16 digs.
Nyah Ulmer, who was recently recognized as the SAC Setter of the Week, continued to shine with 18 assists. Kensey Clifton also played a pivotal role, contributing 15 assists to set up the Aggies' successful attacks. Sydney Carey stepped up providing a solid defensive presence with 12 digs in the back row.
Following this commanding victory, the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Women's Volleyball team is set to face Southwestern Christian on Saturday, October 21st, first serve is set for 6 PM.Â
