GOODWELL, Okla. - The Aggies football team concluded their 2023 season with a challenging matchup against number 19Â Ottawa University Arizona in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday night. The anticipation for this game was heightened as the Aggies aimed to finish the season with a .500 record, a feat they haven't achieved since 2018 when they finished 6-5.
The last encounter between these teams took place on November 12 of the previous year in Goodwell, OK, where the Spirit emerged victorious with a convincing 40-6 win over the Aggies.
The opening drive of the Spirit saw a notable play, with Loren Snead intercepting a pass and returning it for an impressive 76-yard touchdown. Although the extra point was blocked, the Spirit managed to score on their next drive, taking an early 7-6 lead in the first quarter. Unfortunately, the Aggies found themselves trailing 6-23 at the end of the first quarter.
