Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's basketball team faced Southwestern Christian University. The Aggies faced a week of adversity and came ready to battle but ultimetly fell to the visiting Eagles with a final score of Southwestern Christian 57 - OPSU 25.
The halftime score reflected OPSU down 22-14, but the third quarter proved to be a challenging period for the Aggies, as the Eagles outscored them 18-1. Despite the setback, the Aggies displayed resilience, with a season-low 13 turnovers during the game.
Diana Santos and Julia Pacheco emerged as the leading scorers for OPSU, each contributing 5 points. Julia Pacheco also made a significant impact with 8 rebounds, while Jana Radovanovic secured 7 rebounds for the team.
Interim head coach Maria Wiltzius commended the team's determination in the face of adversity, stating, "These girls have faced a lot of adversity this week. They have had an open mind in learning how I would like them to play basketball. I've thrown a lot of new defensive principles at them and a brand-new offense, and they have taken it in stride. They can be proud of the fight they put up tonight together."
