GOODWELL, Okla- The Aggies baseball team headed to Hobbs, NM, as they met University of the Southwest Friday afternoon.
Before the contest, both teams came at 5-5 in the series.
Game 1
Junior
Braeden LeJarraga started on the mound today, and LeJarraga made his third appearance of the season.
The Aggies would obtain seven runs in the first inning, and Freshman
Alex Rodriguez would smack a three-run home run.
All of the Aggies hits came in the first inning, and Mustangs would score five runs in the fifth to give them the lead making the final score 7-14.
LeJarraga pitched four and one-third innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs.
Game 2
In the second game, Junior
Kiebert Medina started for the Aggies, Medina making his third appearance.
Junior
Ryota Kusumoto would punch a lead-off triple, his second of the year. Junior
Jeremy Dibartolomeo would come in with the bases loaded. Dibartolomeo would hit a single, bringing the Aggies the 1-0 lead in the first inning.
The Aggies would tack on six runs in the second inning. Junior
Jose Arrieta banged in a two-run double to score Kusumoto and Freshman
Conner Pritchett. The Aggies would go up 4-0. Aggies hit back-to-back doubles from Dibartolomeo and Freshman
Aamir Magras, scoring 7-0.
The Aggies would score six more runs in the 5th inning, making the final 13-6.
Kiebert Medina would get the win going five innings, allowing two runs off of five hits and striking out seven. Sophomore
Tate Nebhut came out of the bullpen to pitch two innings.
The Aggies will finish their series with the Mustangs tomorrow first pitch will be at 1:00 PM.
