Aggies drop both games in Woodward to Strom

GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies baseball team journeyed to Woodward, OK, for a neutral site matchup between Southern Nazarene University; the Aggies would fall both matches 9 to 20 and 9 to 11. 

Game One

Junior Rafael Nolasco began on the bump for the Aggies.Nolasco threw three innings, giving up five runs off eight hits and striking out four. Sophomore Brandon Greene and Junior Brandon Rodriguez came out of the bullpen. 

Junior Brendan McBeth would get Aggie's first run of the game with a solo home run in the second inning. Junior Ryota Kusumoto reached first base on a fielder's choice and got a run batted in to go up 2-0.

The Storm would score five runs in the third inning and capped off an 11-run 6th inning. 

In the 4th inning, Junior Sam Bond hit his first home run of the season, and in the 7th inning, Brendan McBeth would hit his second home run. 

The Aggies finished with 12 hits as a team. 

Game Two 

Freshman Esai Torres started on the mound for the Aggies. Torres tossed four and one-thirds innings, allowing six runs off nine hits and striking out five. Freshman Jacob Verdin came to relieve Torres and pitched one inning allowing three runs off of two hits. Junior Braeden LeJarraga took the decision for the Aggies. LeJarraga pitched a two-thirds inning, giving up two runs from two hits. 

In the 3rd inning, Tucker Bond, Sam Bond, and Jett Brown would hit all singles to get runners across the plate to give the Aggies a 4-1 lead. 

In the fifth inning, Sophomore Luis De La Cueva would give the Aggies their last lead with a deep double to score two runs to go up 8-7.

The Storm would score four runs in the last two innings to make the final score 11-9. 

The Aggies will be home on Friday, March 3rd, to open conference play against Central Christian College, with the first game being at noon.
