GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies baseball team played their home opener against York University(NE) Friday afternoon. Prior to the game, the last time the Aggies faced the Panthers was on February 14th and 15th of 2020, when the Aggies took four games from the Panthers.
Game One
Junior
Braeden LeJarraga would start on the mound for the Aggies in the first game, his second start of the season. The Panthers would score first on a home run shot to left field in the top of the third inning. Aggies would tie the game in the bottom of the inning with a double from Junior
Jeremy Dibartolomeo, scoring
Jose Arrieta.
Senior
Tucker Bond would lead off with a double in the bottom of the fourth inning. Senior
Payton Brown would single to score Bond, going up 2-1. Freshman
Alex Rodriguez would single to score Brown to go up 3-1, and Junior
Ryota Kusumoto would hit a triple to score

The Aggies would secure the game in the bottom of the fifth inning,
Tucker Bond would single to score
Jeremy Dibartolomeo to make the score 5-2, and the Aggies would finish the game, winning 5-3.
Braeden LeJarraga would finish the game for the Aggies, pitching seven innings, allowing three runs off of seven hits, and striking out three.
Game Two
In the second double-header game, the Aggies would get the early lead in the bottom of the third inning.
Jhonn Cabrera would lead off with a single. Next batter
Payton Brown would hit a double, scoring Cabrera going up 1-0.
Ryota Kusumoto would hit a single to score Brown, going up 2-0.
In the top of the 4th inning, the Panthers would tie the game at 2-2.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Aggies would have the winning run on third base. Sophomore
Jett Brown would come in to pinch-hit a single up the middle to score the game-winning run for the Aggies.
Junior
Justin Santos pitched three innings for the Aggies getting his first win of the season.
The Aggies will play Saturday, February 4th, as they play York University in another Double-header.
