GOODWELL, Okla-The Aggies baseball team traveled to Oklahoma City as they faced Oklahoma City University in a three-game series. The Aggies split the Saturday series falling in the first game 0-4 and taking the second game 4-2. The Aggies would lose the contest on Sunday afternoon in a 2-12 final.
Game One: The Aggies would need help finding answers at the plate, going 1 for 23. Junior Ryota Kusumoto restored the only hit for the Aggies.
Junior Braeden LeJarraga started on the mound for the Aggies, tossing four and one-thirds innings allowing four hits and four runs while walking two. Freshman Tyler Nebhut entered the game in relief, pitching one and two-thirds innings allowing no hits, no runs, and allowing one walk.
Game Two: The Aggies would come to life in the second game, snapping a fifteen-game losing streak against the Stars. Aggies would make history first time in program history that the Aggies beat the Stars.
Junior Jeremy Dibartolomeo and Senior Pyaton Brown would hit a home run in the contest. Then, Ryota Kusumoto doubled down the right field line to score freshman Alejandro Hernandez to go up 4-0.
Junior Justin Santos started on the mound for the Aggies, making his third start of the season.
Santos tossed a complete game allowing two hits and two runs and fanning twelve batters down.
Game Three: In the rubber game, the Stars scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and managed four runs in the fourth.
Freshman Esai Torres started on the hill for the Aggies. Torres pitched three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and six runs. Five different Aggie pitchers came out of the bullpen during the game.
Jeremy Dibartolomeo finished the day going 2-3 at the dish.
Aggies will be home on March 28th for a non-conference matchup as they face Northwestern Oklahoma State University's first pitch at 2:00 PM.
