GOODWELL, Okla-The Lady Aggies softball team took on Southwestern Assemblies of God University Thursday afternoon in a two-game series. The Lady Aggies managed to sneak past the Lions in the first game 9-8 and pulled away in the second game 11-7.
Game One: A walk-off single by Senior Brielee Daniell wrapped up the game in extras. The Lady Aggies took the lead in the bottom of the first inning. Junior Kaycee Torres hit into a fielder's choice, scoring a run.
Junior Toni Shawnee earned the win for the Aggies. Shawnee tossed three innings and allowed three hits and one run. Senior Sarah Conley started the game for the Aggies and went two-two thirds innings allowing six runs on six hits.
The Lady Aggies racked up nine hits as a team, with Brielee Daniell, Kaitlyn Fanning, and Kaycee Torres finishing the game with two hits.
Game Two: The Lady Aggies managed a 6-1 deficit for a comeback win of 11-7, and the Lady Aggies scored six runs in the sixth inning to complete a comeback.
Junior Kenley Yocom earned her fifth win of the year. Yocom tossed three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits. Sophomore Rylin Baker and Toni Shawnee entered the game out of the bullpen.
Junior Megan Bellar and Kaitlyn Fanning finished the game going 3-4 at the dish and combined for 5 RBIs.
As a team, the Lady Aggies finished with thirteen hits.
The Lady Aggies will play the Lions tomorrow at noon and 2:00 PM.
