The first half of the game saw OPSU striving to maintain control, with their largest lead of 3 points at the 13:55 mark. However, the Eagles managed to turn the tide and led at halftime with a score of 55-49. The second half witnessed SCU maintaining their lead, but OPSU made a valiant effort, staging a run at the 9-minute mark to bring the deficit within 1 point. Despite their efforts, the Eagles pulled away, securing a 10-point victory.

Reflecting on the game, Head Coach Charles Belt expressed his thoughts, saying, "Looking at the stats, I thought we played well enough to win, but in this league, it is not good enough to win."

Leading the scoring charge for OPSU was Joe Greaves, who finished with an impressive stat line of 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Fred Robinson IV contributed 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Abduhl Diaby added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
