The 2024 softball season for the OPSU Aggies is shaping to be another thrilling ride, building upon their impressive three consecutive appearances in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) tournament. Under the guidance of Coach Marc Benjamin, the team is eager to make their mark again.
Kicking off the season, the Aggies will charge into action at the NAIA Invitational in Mesquite, TX, squaring off against six formidable opponents on February 8th. The team's non-conference momentum will continue as they travel to Hobbs, NM, for a challenging matchup against the University of the Southwest on February 16th-17th.
Regarding conference play, the Aggies will dive headfirst into the competition with a four-game series against Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX, on February 23rd and 24th. This sets the stage for thrilling clashes as they participate in the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic hosted by Langston University on March 1st and 2nd.
Returning to their home turf at Jim Quimby Field on March 8th, the Aggies will face Langston University in what promises to be an exhilarating four-game series for their home opener. The team's travels continue to Oklahoma City, OK, for a showdown against Mid-America Christian University on March 15th and 16th.
As the season progresses, the Aggies will host Wayland Baptist University and SAGU in late March.
In early April, the team heads to McPherson, KS, for a four-game series against Central Christian College (KS) before returning home for Senior Weekend on April 12th and 13th, where the 2024 seniors will be honored for their contributions.
Closing out their regular season travels, the Aggies head to Bethany, OK, on April 19th and 20th to take on Southwestern Christian University before concluding their 2024 campaign at home against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma on April 28th and 29th.
The SAC Conference Tournament from May 2nd to 4th, with the location yet to be determined, promises intense matchups as teams vie for supremacy in the championship showdown. The OPSU Aggies are gearing up to leave it all on the field, aiming to build on their past successes and make and make a resounding statement in the 2024 season.
