Goodwell, Okla. – The Aggie men's soccer team faced a tough test at home, ultimately falling 7-0 to the John Brown University Golden Eagles in a challenging Sooner Athletic Conference matchup.
The action began early, with John Brown's Gabriel Cabrera netting the first goal at 19:05, assisted by Kendal Madrigal. Only minutes later, Alejandro Gallardo doubled the Golden Eagles' lead off an assist from Jose Gabriel Rodriguez. The Aggies entered halftime down 2-0.
The second half saw a quick start from John Brown as Amaury Jarry scored in the 46th minute, followed shortly by Erick Diaz at 50:54. The Aggies continued to battle. However, John Brown maintained control with further goals from Rodriguez, Alejandro Ramirez, and a second from Cabrera in the final minutes, rounding out the 7-0 score.
The Aggies took five shots in the game, two of which were on goal, both saved by the Golden Eagles' keeper. OPSU's defense kept the goalkeeper busy, making seven saves throughout the match. The Golden Eagles recorded 21 shots, 14 of which were on target, making for a high-pressure night for the Aggie defense.
The Aggies will now play their final home game of the season against #12 Mid-America Christian University (Okla.) Tuesday, October 29th at 7:00 PM
