Goodwell, OK — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie women's basketball team struggled to find their rhythm on Saturday evening, falling to Langston University 70-27 in a Sooner Athletic Conference matchup.

The Aggies faced an uphill battle from the outset, as the Lions surged to a 21-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Langston's defensive pressure and offensive execution challenged OPSU, who managed just 27 points throughout the game.

Sophomore Jamiah Clay led the Aggies in scoring 10 points while grabbing six rebounds and five steals. Lyric Carpenter added eight points and two rebounds, and Heidi Rodriguez contributed two points and two rebounds.

Head Coach Maria Wiltzius acknowledged the team's difficulties, saying, "Today was an eye-opener. We had another slow start to this game and let it get away from us in that first quarter. We must figure out how to transfer what we've been practicing to the games and be ready from the jump."

The Lions were led by a balanced offensive attack, outscoring the Aggies in all four quarters. Their 19-point fourth quarter put an exclamation point on a dominant performance.
