Aggies Fall Short in High-Intensity Matchup Against Langston University

Goodwell, OK — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies men's basketball team battled fiercely but ultimately fell to the Langston University Lions in a nail-biting contest on Friday night. Despite a second-half surge, the Aggies were edged out 64-61 in front of a passionate crowd at Anchor D Arena.

The Aggies faced an uphill battle after a sluggish first half, trailing Langston 29-22 at the break. The Aggies responded with a spirited 39-point effort in the second half, but the Lion's defense held firm in the final minutes to secure the victory.

Sophomore guard Amaree Brown led the Aggies' scoring efforts with 17 points, showcasing his sharpshooting with a 6-of-10 performance from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman forward Brice Langford added a double-digit contribution with 11 points while grabbing a team-high seven rebounds, providing a solid presence in the paint.

The Aggies were also bolstered by sophomore guard Abdulh Diaby, who delivered a balanced performance with 10 points and two rebounds. In comparison, Kyle Belgrave II chipped in with eight points, converting 6-of-9 free throws in crucial moments.

Panhandle State succeeded at the charity stripe, shooting an impressive 76.9% (20-of-26), but struggled to find consistency from beyond the arc, hitting only 5-of-22 (22.7%).

Head Coach Charles Belt praised his team's effort and the electric atmosphere: "That was a good basketball game. That is a game that is played in March. The energy in the building was like nothing else, and we got everything about the basketball we wanted to play. Eventually, shots are going to start falling our way."

Upcoming
The Aggies will look to rebound as they continue Sooner Athletic Conference play next week. They host Nelson University on Thursday, November 21, with tip-off set for 8:00 PM at Anchor D Arena.
