Goodwell, Okla. – The Aggies women's cross country team capped off their season at the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Championship, hosted by Oklahoma City University. Competing against a field of solid conference teams, the Aggies finished 9th overall.
Aggies' Top Performers: Carolina Valenzuela led the Aggies, crossing the line at 25:21.24, earning a 19th-place finish and setting a solid pace for the team. Teammate Carla Tiniguar Tum followed, placing 28th at 26:34.70. These two athletes anchored the Aggies' lineup, showcasing endurance and resilience in a challenging field.
Other finishers included Paizlie Reyna-Mata (31:04.01, 49th), Breyanna Kemp (31:56.14, 51st), Daya Murillo (33:10.01, 53rd), and Ashlynn Perez (34:16.79), who all contributed to the team's season finale effort.
Head Coach Cyrus Hall praised his team's performance, noting the unique challenges they faced this season. "I thought our women ran okay. We knew today would be a challenge with only two true distance runners; we're racing sprinters out there," said Hall. "I thought they ran tough, though we lacked depth. We might have finished higher if a few team athletes from other schools hadn't cut the course and gotten disqualified. We also missed Jamiah Clay, who was out sick at the last minute."
