Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) men's basketball team faced a fierce challenge against the Texas Wesleyan University Rams on Feb. 10. Despite a valiant effort, the Aggies fell short with a final score of 70-58.
OPSU showcased their grit in the first half, heading into halftime with a lead of 29-25. The team displayed resilience as they surged ahead by eight points at one juncture during the second half. However, the Rams mounted a comeback, and OPSU ultimately lost the lead, concluding the game with a final score of 70-58.
Leading the charge in scoring for the Aggies was Abduhl Diaby, who delivered an outstanding performance with 14 points. Fred Robinson IV contributed 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Boston Douglas added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The game also served as a special occasion to honor senior player Joe Greaves on his senior day. Joe, a three-year veteran of OPSU, has been a pivotal asset to the team. This season, he has showcased his sharpshooting ability with a 37% success rate from beyond the arc, averaging an impressive 12.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
As the Aggies hit the road for the next two weeks, they remain determined and focused on the challenges ahead. On Thursday, February 15, OPSU will travel to face Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas, with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 PM.
