GOODWELL,Okla-OPSU Aggies faced off against the Langston University Lions in a doubleheader, sweeping both games with scores of 14-13 and 16-11.
Game 1 Recap:
In the first game of the doubleheader, the Aggies found themselves in a tough spot early on, trailing the Lions 2-13 going into the bottom of the third inning. However, the Aggies staged an incredible comeback, scoring three runs in the 3rd and 4th innings, narrowing the Lions' lead to 9-13. The Aggies' bats exploded in the 6th inning, adding five runs to tie the game at 13-13. The game went into extra innings, where Kaylynn Du Preez came up clutch with a game-winning single, securing a thrilling 14-13 victory for the Aggies.Â
Game 2 Recap:
The Aggies got a strong start in the second game, leading 5-1 after the first inning. They extended their lead with four runs in the third inning, going up 9-2. Despite a comeback attempt by the Lions, who narrowed the gap to just one run in the 6th inning, the Aggies responded with authority. Meagan Bellar crushed a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning, propelling the Aggies to score seven runs in the inning and ultimately securing a 16-11 victory.
Upcoming Matchup:
The OPSU Aggies will now focus on a conference matchup against Mid-American Christian University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The games are scheduled for March 15th and 16th.Â
