GOODWELL, Okla- The OPSU Aggies softball team faced Mid-America Christian University in a conference matchup on Friday afternoon, but they lost both doubleheader games to the Evangels.
Game One:Â In a tightly contested battle, the Aggies fell short with a final score of 0-1. The game's lone run came in the 4th inning, giving the Evangels the edge they needed. OPSU struggled to generate offense, with Nicole Peralta, Audi Pettaway, and Olivia Woytiuk recording the only hits of the game. Kenley Yocom was on the mound, tossing her third complete game of the year, allowing only one run off five hits while striking out six batters.
Game Two:Â The Aggies came out strong in the second game, taking an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Melissa Carroll and Chloe Browning played vital roles, each contributing three hits and two RBIs. Kaycee Torres delivered a solid performance on the mound, pitching her 4th complete game of the season. Still, the Aggies couldn't maintain their early lead, ultimately falling with a final score of 2-5.
The Aggies will look to bounce back in tomorrow's doubleheader. The team is scheduled to play two games, with the first pitch set for noon and the second at 2:00 PM.Â
