GOODWELL,Okla- The Aggies softball team recently concluded their weekend excursion at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. Despite their best efforts, the team faced formidable opponents, falling 0-7 against McPherson College and 0-10 to Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday afternoon.
In the first game against McPherson College, the Bulldogs secured an early lead with a 1-0 advantage over the Aggies, adding runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and a four-run 4th inning.
Kenley Yocom commenced the game in the circle for the Aggies, for three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs off ten hits.
Kaycee Torres stepped in for relief, pitching three and one-third innings.
Transitioning to the second game against Our Lady of the Lake, the Saints surged ahead with an 8-0 lead in the second inning.
Cadence Yocom received the starting nod for the Aggies, but the team needed help gaining traction. Despite their efforts, OPSU concluded with only four hits as a team.
The Aggies will look forward as they prepare for a four-game series against Langston University on March 8th. The first pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
