Goodwell, OK – Over the past weekend, the Aggies Track and Field team contended at the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.
Men's Highlights
Senior Xavier Starks threw 38.44m in the javelin event, placing 27th. In the men's 1500 meters, junior Arturo Vallejo finished with 4:16.97, ranking him 45th. Freshman Trevor Youngblood and senior Landry Coble also represented.
Junior Colby Perez ran a notable 800 meters in 1:59.46. In the grueling 10000 meters, senior Justin Duran covered the distance in 35:27.88.
Freshman Aspen Jolly contested in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.27m and finishing 9th.
The men's relay teams had compelling outings. The 4 x 100m team, comprising Dillon Bruington, Kamron Neal, Austin White, and Joshua Granillo, took third place with a time of 41.13. The 4 x 400m relay team also performed impressive, clocking in at 3:26.52.
Women's Highlights
Junior Azucena Carrillo led the women's team with a run in the 400 meters, clocking 2:40.72.
In the sprints, sophomore Kaylee Lujan recorded a time of 12.65 in the 100 meters and 26.30 in the 200 meters.
Junior Abbey Goode competed in the 400m hurdles and 100m hurdles, finishing with times of 1:14.68 and 18.14, respectively.
The women's 4 x 100m relay team, including Paizlie Reyna-Mata, Jamiah Clay, Azucena Carrillo, and Kaylee Lujan, finished strong with a time of 50.23.
After the meet, head coach Cyrus Hall mentioned," Ladies were terrific today! I think every single one of them had a personal best in their events. It's nice to see them starting to do the things I know they can do!
The mens 4x100m continues to get a little better each time out. Aspen Jolly hit a PR in vault. He's the SAC leader right now. Several good results from our men's distance runners as well.
Plenty of bright spots. We will send a small group to Tabor a college next Saturday. Then it's time for conference the week after."

With their recent successes fueling their determination, the Aggies eagerly prepare for their next challenge at the Tabor College Invitational in Hillsboro, KS, on April 20th.
