GOODWELL, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie volleyball team faced off against a tough Texas Wesleyan squad on Friday night, fighting through three competitive sets but ultimately falling 25-20, 25-20, 25-17.
The Aggies were led offensively by Taylor Silva and Taylore Alsaid, who registered 11 kills, while Ava Newby contributed 7. Nyah Ulmer directed the attack with 20 assists, with support from Mia Sanchez, who added eight assists, and Teagan Mendoza-Werner, who chipped in with 4. Silva also led the team on defense with nine digs, followed closely by Alsaid with eight digs and Mendoza-Werner with 7. Brenna Moore was strong at the net, tallying three blocks, while Alsaid and Cami Kenny posted two blocks. Aurelia Pleets added one service ace for the Aggies.
Despite the loss, Head Coach Myers saw positive signs from the team's performance. "We executed our game plan very well and were able to play some thoughtful volleyball," Coach Myers said. "I saw the execution of things we have worked on in practice and some very high-level thinking."
