Goodwell, The OPSU Aggies men's soccer team opened their conference slate with a hard-fought match against Central Christian College in McPherson, KS, but ultimately fell 3-1 to the Tigers.
The Aggies were down early, as the Tigers netted a goal in the 10th minute.OPSU battled back, leveling the score just before halftime when
Ayoup Bader struck in the 42nd minute, scoring his first goal.
In the second half, the Tigers scored in the 75th minute. The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute sealing the 3-1 victory.
The Aggies tallied 11 shots, four of which were on goal. Bader led the offense with three shots, two on target, while goalkeeper
Olai Caicoya recorded two saves in the match. Central Christian edged the Aggies in total shots with 12, five of which were on goal.
OPSU committed 13 fouls, while Central Christian recorded 17. Both teams struggled to capitalize on corner kicks, with the Aggies registering two and the Tigers managing two in the match.

Garrett Kull said after the game, "We played really hard tonight and created a lot of chances, but it just wasn't our night offensively. We're just missing that ability to compete in tight games and come out as the winners. There's still a lot of optimism in the team, and we still have a lot of soccer left".
The Aggies will look to bounce back as they head to Waxahachie, TX, on October 1 for a conference matchup against Nelson. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
