GOODWELL, Okla. — Following a 0-0 draw Saturday afternoon versus Nelson (5-3-3, 0-1-2), the Oklahoma Panhandle State men's soccer team (4-3-3, 0-2-1 SAC) is still yet to allow a goal at home through 360 minutes of action in 2025.
The remarkable shutout streak spanning four matches extends the program-record stretch of defensive dominance for the Aggies.
Saturday's match gave OPSU its first point in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings, as
Olai Caicoya put together his first solo shutout between the posts in 2025.
Neither team was able to generate sustained good scoring chances as the first half played out, with the conference foes both taking six shots and both landing two on frame.
The Lions ran away with the shots advantage in the second period, but Caicoya and company remained stout as OPSU's goalie made six saves and moved his record to 1-1-1 on the season.
Othman Gherab led the Aggies with six shots (two on goal), while
Til Vaupel notched a pair of shots and
Calum Murphy landed a shot on goal.
What's up next: OPSU tries to keep its remarkable home shutout streak going and come away with a victory when it hosts Central Christian (2-6-2, 2-1 SAC) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
