GOODWELL, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's basketball team (1-6, 0-3 SAC) fell 117-46 on Tuesday night to undefeated RV Wayland Baptist (8-0, 3-0).
An energetic start to the game was spoiled by WBU's physicality and terrific shooting display, turning the rivalry showdown into a lopsided affair.
In the opening minutes, OPSU's ball movement was crisp as
Kensington Grant-Brown,
Christian Campbell and
Aaron Williams Jr. each connected on three-pointers. Williams Jr.'s trey tied the game at 12-12 five minutes in, but it would be all Wayland Baptist from there.
WBU finished the night making 21-of-41 shots from beyond the arc, while it also dominated the glass with a 48-28 rebounding advantage.
The Aggies were led by
Jacob Taitte's 13 points and eight rebounds. Campbell joined Taitte in double figures with 12 points.
What's up next: OPSU is off through Thanksgiving break as it gears up for a pair of tough conference matchups at home starting on Dec. 4 versus RV Texas Wesleyan (4-3, 1-2).
