LANGSTON, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State men's basketball team (1-10, 0-7 SAC) struggled to score against the No. 5-ranked, defensive-minded Langston Lions (10-2, 6-1) on the road Saturday in a 76-35 defeat.
OPSU started slowly in a lopsided first half, but the visitors showed defensive chops themselves in a more competitive final 20 minutes.
Mike Carter was a bright spot for the Aggies, hauling in nine rebounds and recording two blocks, both of which led all players in the contest.
As a team, however, LU won the rebounding battle 50-26, both taking advantage of the Aggies' misfires and scoring 12 second-chance points.
Aaron Williams Jr. finished with 12 points and four boards to highlight OPSU's offensive output. Young reserves
Andrew May and
Mathieu Cardot both produced career highs in Aggie uniforms with six and three points, respectively.
What's up next: Panhandle State next faces NCAA Division II-foe Oklahoma Christian University (5-4, 1-3 LSC) on the road for an exhibition contest Thursday evening.
