GOODWELL, Okla. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State women's basketball team (3-7, 0-5 SAC) was defeated 76-43 Saturday afternoon at home against Nelson (8-1, 4-1).
For the second consecutive game,
Tryssa Dowd recorded at least 12 points and 12 rebounds, as the freshman notched another double-double.
Mar'kia Pratt and
Emily Bray added seven and six points, respectively, while five Panhandle State reserves found themselves in the scoring column.
Breya Beck highlighted that group's efforts, scoring six points on perfect 2-for-2 accuracy from the field.
Four Aggies – Pratt,
Lexine Johnson,
Heidi Rodriguez and
Zamari Reece – recorded two assists apiece.
A slow start sunk OPSU and Nelson took full advantage, racing out to a 45-15 halftime edge.
OPSU played with renewed energy after the intermission, however, winning the third quarter, 15-14, behind seven points from Pratt and five boards from Dowd.
Despite the improved defense and offensive efficiency from the hosts, the Lions never let the game get tight in the second half.
What's up next: OPSU closes the 2025 calendar year on the road, beginning Thursday, Dec. 11, at Central Christian (4-7, 0-5). Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. in McPherson, Kansas.
