Aggies Split Doubleheader with Sterling College

GOODWELL, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University softball team secured a decisive victory in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against Sterling College before falling in the second matchup at Jim Quimby Field. The Aggies claimed a 9-4 win in Game 1 but dropped the nightcap 24-5.

Game 1: Aggies Dominate with Explosive Offense

The Aggies wasted no time setting the tone in the opener, scoring twice in the first inning before adding four more runs in the second. Strong performances at the plate led OPSU to a 9-4 victory over the Warriors.

Marin Jacobs earned the win in the circle, going the distance while allowing eight hits and striking out three. Jacobs also contributed with the bat, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a double.

Trinity Higgins and Erin Hornback sparked the Aggies' offense, combining for five runs scored. Haeley Vasquez and Audi Pettaway each drove in three runs, with Vasquez, Pettaway, Melissa Carroll, Jacobs, and Gracie Lankford all recording doubles.

Game 2: Sterling Responds with Offensive Surge

Sterling College bounced back in a big way in Game 2, using a 12-run second inning to fuel a 24-5 victory over OPSU. The Aggies struggled defensively, committing eight errors that proved costly.
