Box Score 4 Goodwell, OK. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggie softball team dominated their weekend series against Langston University, winning all four games convincingly. The Aggies showcased their offensive power and defensive prowess, outscoring the Lions 29-1 over the series.
Game 1: Aggies Open Series with 8-0 Shutout
The Aggies set the tone early, defeating Langston 8-0 in a five-inning shutout. The offense erupted in the second inning, scoring six runs behind key hits from Trinity Higgins (2 RBI single), Erin Hornback (RBI single), Haeley Vasquez (2 RBI double), and Melissa Carroll (RBI triple). Additional runs in the fourth and fifth innings sealed the victory. Marin Jacobs pitched a gem, allowing just two hits while striking out multiple batters.
Game 2: Aggies Roll to Another 8-0 Victory
Oklahoma Panhandle kept the momentum going with another dominant 8-0 win. The Aggies struck in the third inning, tallying five runs, highlighted by Melissa Carroll's 2 RBI single and Jacobs reaching on an error that brought in two more runs. Vasquez added two RBIs in the fourth to extend the lead, while Jacobs and Rylin Baker combined for a two-hit shutout in the circle.
Game 3: Late-Inning Push Secures 5-1 Win
Langston managed their only series run in the first inning of game three, but the Aggies responded with five unanswered runs. Erin Hornback's RBI single in the third tied the game, followed by Kaylynn Du Preez's clutch two-RBI double in the fourth. Jacobs continued her stellar weekend, adding a run in the seventh with an RBI single while earning the win on the mound.
Game 4: Aggies Complete the Sweep
Oklahoma Panhandle capped off the series in dominant fashion, securing another commanding victory. The Aggies' offense fired on all cylinders throughout the weekend, displaying their depth and versatility at the plate. The pitching staff, led by Jacobs and Baker, kept Langston's hitters in check, completing a near-flawless performance.
"We played outstanding softball all weekend," said Head Coach Walker. "Our team was locked in from the start, executing in all aspects of the game. It was a great series win, and we'll look to carry this momentum forward."
