Head Coach Cyrus Hall stated, "We had an awesome day today! Most of our kids have been waiting five weeks to compete since our last indoor meet, so they were excited to get after it.

I thought our women were outstanding—it's the best they've looked all year! I've been waiting for them to break through, and today they did just that, setting school records in the 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 5000m, shot put, discus, and hammer throw. Every girl we ran in the 100m and 200m hit a lifetime best. Jamiah Clay had a terrific day, breaking three school records (4x100m, 200m, and 400m), and she might have a shot at qualifying for Nationals in the 400m. Our female throwers also proved they could be a strength for us come conference, with Avery breaking the school record in discus and Savannah throwing a huge personal best and school record in the hammer throw.

The men were just as impressive. I'm pretty sure Kamron Neal broke the NAIA record in the 200m with a 20.27—I'll have to check with USTFCCCA on Monday. He slowed down well before the line and wasn't really challenged, so I wouldn'tbe surprised to see him run sub-20.00 this year, which is world-class. He also qualified for Nationals in that event. Our 200m guys went off today, with nearly all of them running personal bests or coming close.

Our men's throwers had a strong opener as well, with Ayden Hendershot breaking the school record in discus. We're back in action next week at Eastern New Mexico, and we're hoping to build off today's success!"

Up Next:

The Aggies will travel to Portales, NM, on March 29 to compete at the ENMU Greyhound Invitational.
