WILLOW PARK, Texas — The Oklahoma Panhandle State University men's golf team teed off against some of the toughest competition in the NAIA this past Monday and Tuesday (April 14-15), competing in the Texas Wesleyan Spring Invitational hosted at Squaw Creek Golf Course. The Aggies finished 10th out of 11 teams in a field loaded with national talent—nine of the 11 programs were ranked in the Top 50 nationally, including No. 1-ranked Oklahoma City University.
The par-71, 6,859-yard Squaw Creek layout proved a stern test over three rounds of play, but the Aggies held their own, led by sophomore
Worathan Thammachokecharoen, who placed 37th overall with a +13 score across the tournament. Thammachokecharoen opened with a strong 74 (+3), followed by rounds of 77 and 75.
Fellow Aggie
Thantup Saengvut tied for 47th after carding rounds of 79, 77, and 78 (+21 total).
Lance Addington rounded out the scoring for the Aggies in 53rd place, shooting 80 in both his first and second rounds before posting a final-round 79 (+26 overall).
The Aggies will look to bounce back when they return to the course for their next tournament on April 21-22 in Wichita, KS.
