OKLAHOMA CITY — Worathan Thammachokecharoen carded an even-par 72 to pace the Aggies at the Southwestern Christian Invitational on Wednesday as the Oklahoma Panhandle State men's golf team concluded its first tournament of the year in fifth place with a three-round total of 937, or 73-over.
Seminole State won the invite with a team score of 42-over at the 6,727-yard track, while OPSU landed just two strokes back of fourth-place Central Baptist.
Thammachokecharoen finished sixth overall at eight-over 224, boosted by shooting three-under over his final 26 holes.
Xavyer Mosqueda gave the Aggies a lift Wednesday as he avoided the big numbers on his scorecard with a steady round of 80.
Thantup Saengvut and
Paul Mercado had their scores of 81 and 82, respectively, count in the final round, with Saengvut's efforts highlighted by an even-par front nine.
OPSU closed the invitational third among teams in par-3 scoring average, aided by Saengvut's third-place finish in the category at two-over par.
