GOODWELL, Okla.— Aggies baseball wrapped up its 2025 campaign on a high note, outlasting College of the Ozarks 9-7 on Saturday afternoon.
Aggies struck early and often, plating two runs in the bottom of the first when
Noah Murphy-Sealy roped a two-run double to center, scoring
Isaiah Halton and
Alejandro Hernandez. The Aggies added another run in the second on a groundout by
Ryota Kusumoto. Then they exploded for four runs in the third, highlighted by a two-run homer of
Bill Bonner and an RBI single from
Xavier Garcia.
College of the Ozarks battled back, putting up five unanswered runs between the fourth and fifth innings to tie the game at 7-7. However, Panhandle State regained control in the seventh when Bonner delivered again with an RBI single to score
Isaac Young. In the eighth,
Israel Gandara reached and came around to score on a double by Hernandez to give the Aggies a two-run cushion heading into the ninth.
The OPSU bullpen locked things down late, as
Zach Mayhew earned his second save of the year by working a scoreless ninth.
James Moya picked up the win (1-0) after a quick and efficient relief appearance in the seventh.
The Aggies were led offensively by Halton (3-for-5, 2 R), Bonner (2-for-4, HR, 3 RBI), and Murphy-Sealy (2B, 3 RBI). OPSU totaled 12 hits on the day while holding off a scrappy Bobcats lineup that tallied 11 hits.
