ALAMOSA, Col. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State women's soccer team (3-2) fell 3-0 on the road Sunday afternoon against tough NCAA Division II competition in Adams State (4-1-1).
After allowing an early goal, OPSU hung with ASU through halftime and beyond, still facing a 1-0 deficit with 20 minutes to play.
The Grizzlies scored in the 72nd and 79th minutes, though, to put the match away.
Goalkeeper
Emma Shockley made her first start and notched eight saves against a relentless Adams State attack.
Both Aggie shots in the match occurred in the first half, taken by
Mallory Maltese and
Yaddelis Alderete.
What's up next: OPSU looks to build off a strong nonconference campaign when it begins facing SAC opponents on Saturday at undefeated-Southwestern Christian (7-0-1).
