POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — The Oklahoma Panhandle State volleyball team (2-6, 0-1 SAC) began conference play Friday evening at the College of the Ozarks (6-0, 1-0), where it was defeated in straight sets (25-27, 18-25, 21-25).
OPSU held a five-point advantage late in the first set as it made an early bid to knock off the undefeated Bobcats, but the hosts rallied and the visitors never recovered in the Sooner Athletic Conference opener.
Junior transfer
Skyla Stark highlighted the Aggies' individual efforts with a team-high eight kills on 10 total attacks. The middle blocker did not commit an attack error, leading to an eye-popping hitting percentage of .800.
Elena Kagiali and
Taylore Alsaid helped out the offense with six kills apiece, and both were factors in the back row with a combined 19 digs. Kagiali led OPSU in both digs (13) and service aces (two) on the night.
Winiffer Rodriguez and
Taylor Silva both added nine digs, while
Mia Sanchez notched a match-high 25 assists.
