GOODWELL, Okla. — For the first time in program history, the Oklahoma Panhandle State baseball team has garnered a weekly honor from NAIA Ball, as Genesis Nunez was named the organization's Player of the Week from Feb. 2-8. Nunez earned the same status more locally from Sooner State Baseball Report, in addition to his Sooner Athletic Conference award.
 
Nunez capped a terrific week with a three-game series versus York in which he went 8-for-12 at the dish with 10 RBIs, eight runs scored, two homers, two doubles and a triple. In five total games during the Feb. 2-8 span, the shortstop batted .579 with an on-base percentage of .652. His power to all fields led to a ridiculous on-base-plus-slugging percentage of 1.915.
