GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University Athletics has honored softball's Aaliyah Dang-Gutierrez and baseball's Zoilo Pimentel as the Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week for games played March 2-8.
Gutierrez and company went on the road to McPherson, Kansas, to play Sooner Athletic Conference opponent Central Christian, where the Aggies took one in the four-game set. In the series, the junior transfer went 5-for-14, drew a walk, swiped four bases, batted in two runs and scored twice herself. The Guymon native added on to her solid season, as the utility outfielder/infielder is hitting a respectable .286 with a .344 on-base percentage in 2026. Gutierrez has done her most damage on the base paths, going a perfect 19-for-19 on stolen base attempts, with those 19 swiped bags ranking first in the conference and 11th in the nation.
Pimentel has been the Aggies' main catcher in the lineup throughout his freshman year, boosted by his hitting capabilities. Limited at-bats due to game situation and the demanding nature of the position did not stop Pimentel this past weekend, as he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three hard-hit singles a two-run homer to left field. Defensively, the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native contributed with 14 putouts and no passed balls as the Aggies took one of three against Oklahoma City.
