GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University Athletics has named track and field's Paizlie Reyna-Mata and Wyatt Hamilton as the Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week from March 9-15.
Reyna-Mata started her outdoor season with a bang as she helped lead the 4x100-meter relay team to a win at the Dean Pryor Invite in Coffeyville, Kansas, with a team time of 49.95 seconds. Individually, the junior from Hart, Texas, also ran a time of 1:05.32 in the 400-meters which gave her a solid sixth-place finish out of 20 in the event. That time also stands as a PR and marked a five-second improvement from her indoor 400-meter time this season.
Hamilton also had a big Thursday in Coffeyville as the two-sport athlete from Chelsea, Oklahoma, competed in three throwing events for the Aggies. He put up a mark of 11.83 meters in the shot put, which ended as the second best throw in the event for the Aggies. Hamilton also competed in the hammer throw where he reached 30.79 meters. Lastly, the freshman competed in the discus where he placed third of 21 competitors with a school-record distance of 42.65 meters, exceeding the previous record by over three meters.
