KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University Athletics is proud to recognize the five Aggies who were recently awarded as NAIA Winter Scholar-Athletes.
Four Aggies from OPSU women's basketball earned the distinction, which was tied-fourth among Sooner Athletic Conference programs. Only John Brown, Nelson and Southwestern Christian University had more Scholar-Athletes on their women's basketball teams.
Panhandle State men's basketball was also recognized with one honoree.
To qualify as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. This winter, nationwide, the list featured 3,143 student-athletes who met those rigorous standards.
