GOODWELL, Okla. — Oklahoma Panhandle State University Athletics has named Marin Jacobs of softball and track's Ayden Hendershot as the Mack's Motorsports Aggies of the Week from March 30 through April 5.
Jacobs had one of the finest weekends of her career as the Aggies traveled down to Fort Worth, Texas to take on Texas Wesleyan University. Jacobs started in two of the four games of the series, and she put on a pitching clinic. In her first game, she pitched six innings, allowing one earned run and one walk as she kept batters uncomfortable and off balance all game. In the series finale, Jacobs took the mound again and threw another gem, with the junior from Bloomington, Indiana, throwing 7.1 innings in the extra-inning thriller. In those 7.1 phenomenal frames, the 2025 Second Team All-SAC pitcher stated her case for a repeat of those honors as she allowed just one earned run, scattering nine hits and two walks. Jacobs finished the weekend with a total of 13.1 innings pitched, a 1.05 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and two complete games, while also helping at the plate with two hits and one RBI.
Speaking of career weekends, Hendershot had one of his own at the South Plains College Alumni Elite Invitational. The sophomore out of Sayre, Oklahoma, led the Aggies in all three events he entered – the discus, shot put and hammer throw. In the discus, Hendershot placed seventh in the competition with a distance of 39.00 meters, beating the next closest Aggie by over four meters. In the shot put, the two-sport athlete finished with a mark of 12.02 meters, which was good enough for fifth in the competition. Lastly, in the hammer throw, Hendershot notched a program record-breaking 41.69 meters to cap his elite performance.
