Hired in January 2024, the 2026 season is McAlpine’s third as the head women’s soccer coach for Oklahoma Panhandle State University.

Head Coaching Highlights at OPSU (Through Two Seasons)
Through the 2025 and 2026 seasons, McAlpine’s team and athletes have compiled:
  • The program’s first two SAC Tournament appearances
  • Two Second Team All-SAC honorees
  • Three CSC Academic All-District Team members
  • Six NAIA Scholar-Athletes
In McAlpine’s debut 2024 season leading the Aggies, he doubled the program’s win total within conference games, setting a program record with two SAC victories as Panhandle State made the conference tournament for the first time.

He continued to lead OPSU to new heights in 2025, as the Aggies went 6-7-2, earned the sixth seed in the SAC Tournament, and set the program’s single-season records for wins, goals per game (1.62), and fewest goals against per game (2.20). The year was highlighted by OPSU picking up its first-ever point against a ranked opponent when it tied No. 21 Science & Arts Oklahoma at home on Oct. 10.

Before OPSU
McAlpine brought an exceptional coaching pedigree to OPSU, having served seven strong years as the head coach at Northeastern Junior College, including the program’s inaugural season. His tenure at NJC was marked by remarkable achievements. Notably, in 2019, McAlpine steered the team to its first winning record, and he built upon that year with a run of sustained success.

Under McAlpine's guidance, the team continued its upward trajectory, securing a top-four finish in Region 9 during the 2020, 2021 and 2022 seasons, as well as advancement to the semi-finals of the regional tournament. The run was highlighted by the 2021 team that achieved a 12-3-1 regular season record, finishing second in the region and appearing in the NJCAA Division I National Top 20 poll. That team also saw seven players selected to the All-Region Team and six who received Academic All-American recognition.

Playing Career
At the time of his graduation from the University of Pikeville, McAlpine held six school records in scoring. Additionally, his exceptional leadership and play on the pitch propelled the Bears to their most successful season in 2009, and he was recognized as an all-conference performer in the Midsouth Conference.

McAlpine graduated from the University of Pikeville with his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He also holds a Master of Arts in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
