Box Score Oklahoma City—The Aggies dropped to an 8-14 season record after taking a five-set loss to Mid-America Christian on Saturday.
The Aggies edged a 27-25 win in set one, were defeated 25-22 in the set two and claimed a third set victory 25-22 over the Evangels. MACU fought back in the final two sets to earn wins 25-16 in set four and 15-10 in set five.
Kendra Butler and
Summer Middleton tallied game-highs with 18 and 17 kills respectively. Middleton also marked her third double-double of the season adding 18 digs to her record. Freshman Quiara Pointdexter took down 12 kills and three block assists; Butler also added points on defense with five block assists in the match.
Setter
Julia Ibarra recorded a big double-double in the match as well, with a game-high of 55 assists and a total of 22 digs.
McKenna Clement came through with a game-high of 34 digs at libero and served up two aces in the game.
The Sooner Athletic Conference loss places the Aggies in a tie for seventh place in the conference standings. With three SAC games left on the schedule, Panhandle State still shows hope for post-season play. The Aggies are at home for their final three games of the season, and look to their fans for full support and full stands in the Oscar Williams Field House.
This Thursday, Oct. 26 marks the annual Halloween Spiketacular as the Aggies take on Texas Wesleyan at 7 p.m. The event will include free popcorn, a costume contest with cash prizes between the second and third sets, and a trick-or-treat line with the volleyball team after the game.
