Salina, Kan. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University's golf teams continued the spring portion of their season on Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26), competing at the Kansas Wesleyan University Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event was held at the par-71 Salina Country Club course.
For the Aggies' women's team, freshman
Emilee Smith (Sunray, Texas) led the team by placing 11th overall. Smith finished with a 98-103=201 for the two-day event.
Rylee Higgins (207) and
Jacey Steel (209) placed back-to-back in 14th and 15th place.
Ashley Branch and
Kylie Moore were 18th and 19th, respectively.
On the men's side, senior
Sergi Teller earned a top-20 finish, tying for 17th place. Teller, a native of Barcelona, Spain, shot rounds of 73 and 87 for a final score of 160.
Lucas Heathington was tied for 30th (84-84=168) and
Karsten Harrison 38th (94-87=181). Jake Hawkins rounded out the Aggies' roster in 41st place.
