McPHERSON, Kan. – Friday the 13th had nothing but good fortunes for the Oklahoma Panhandle State University's volleyball team, which won for the fourth time in its last five outings with a 3-0 Sooner Athletic Conference decision over Central Christian College. The Aggies (5-5, 2-1 SAC) notched their third shutout of the season by set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-15 over the Tigers.
Senior middle blocker
Kendra Butler continued her hot play. Butler notched her fourth match with double-digit kill totals, pounding down 13 versus CCC. Butler committed just two attack errors in 20 attempts, for a .550 attack average on the evening. She also had a match-high seven blocks.
Butler also reached the 700-career kills plateau for her illustrious career. Needing six kills entering the match, she now has 707 career kills.
Teammate
Hannah Murray added nine kills in 20 attempts versus the Tigers. Murray also committed just two errors and had a .350 hitting percentage. Murray managed seven digs and one block to her credit.
Keeley Johnston led the Aggies with 24 assists. She also matched Butler with seven blocks on her ledger.
In the back row, sophomore libero
Ashley Sanchez had 13 digs.
Skylar Cleavinger add nine digs to the Panhandle State totals.
The 2019 Panhandle State squad reached its fifth victory of the season twice as fast as the 2018 team, which was the Aggies' first to earn a conference post-season berth. The Aggies earned win No. 5 in their tenth match, with last year's unit not hitting that mark until its 20th outing of the year.
Panhandle will stay on the road for a match at arch-rival Langston University on Saturday (Sept. 14) at 1 p.m.
