PLAINVIEW, Texas – Oklahoma Panhandle State University women's basketball could not solve the NAIA's No. 3-ranked team – Wayland Baptist University – in a Sooner Athletic Conference match-up on the road, 78-34, at the Hutcherson Center. The Aggies fell to 1-4, 1-4 SAC, while the nationally-ranked Flying Queens improved to 6-0 and 4-0 in the SAC.
WBU took the lead for good less than 90 seconds into the contest and never looked back. OPSU found itself down after one quarter, 28-7, and trailed at the intermission, 48-15, versus the high-flying Flying Queens.
Senior
Naomi Rodriguez led Panhandle State in scoring with nine points. Rodriguez was 3-for-9 shooting from the floor, with all of her makes from three-point range, to account for all but two OPSU makes from behind the arc as a team.
Senior guard
Laura Moya Demures made the Aggies other two baskets from long range, finishing the game with eight points.
Cassia McCaskill was held well below her season scoring average of 24 points per game, booking seven versus WBU. McCaskill led the Aggies with five rebounds and two steals.
Morgan Williamson added four points and four rebounds.

Alie Parkhurst and
Jo Quintero each contributes two points to round out the OPSU scoring. Jones and Parkhurst each had a blocked shot to their credit.
