OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggie Volleyball traveled east to play Mid-American Christian University (MACU) Evangels this evening. The Aggies beat the Evangels in 5 sets at home on Sept. 11th. However, this time the Evangels held off the Aggies 25-18, 25-18, 31-29.
Thou, the Evangels won, the Aggies showed remarkable resiliency, determined to fight for every point, making it a hard-fought battle. The Aggies out-blocked the Evangels 8 to 0, with junior Keera Parks leading the team with a solo and 6 assisted blocks.
The Aggies not only out-blocked the Evangels; the Aggie hitters made fewer hitting errors than the Evangels 13 to 21. Junior Essence West had 15 kills, Eduarda Souza had 6 kills, and Zoe Fry had 4 kills.
Senior setter Lesly Galarza had a double-double, with 18 assists and 10 digs. Galarza also provided 3 kills for the team. Sophomore libero Gracie Soza led the team defensively with 13 digs and two service aces.
