Box Score CHICKASHA, Okla. – The Oklahoma Panhandle State Volleyball team completed the weekend matches competing against the University of Science and Arts Dovers. The Aggies swept the Dovers at home on September 10th early in the season. Today, the Aggies fought hard to sweep USAO 25-19, 26-24, 25-19.
Aggies led by senior setters
Celenia De Leon Toribio and
Lesly Galarza. Toribio had 5 kills on 8 attempts, hitting .625, had 12 set assists, and 1 dig. Galarza had 2 kills on 4 attempts, hitting .500 and a double-double with 19 set assists and 11 digs. Junior middles
Idalisia Agbaosi and
Keera Parks were very active on the net by hitting and blocking the Dovers. Agbaosi hit .333 and, had 1 block, Parks hitting .100 and had 3 blocks.
The pin hitters for the Aggies were very effective against the Dovers. Junior
Essence West had another double-double, with 12 kills and 12 digs against the Dovers. West also had a service ace and 2 blocks. Senior right-side hitter
Eduarda Souza had 10 kills, hitting .179, 3 digs, and 1 block. Junior
Zoe Fry had 6 kills, hitting .154, 4 digs, and 1 block.
The Aggies out dug the Dovers 62% to 59% of attacks hit, with four Aggies in double-digit digs.
Mckenna Coppock provided 13 digs, West with 12 digs, Galarza with 11 digs and,
Ashley Sanchez with 10 digs and 1 service ace.
The Aggies are currently 16-9 overall and 8-6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Up next for the Aggies are to host Wayland Baptist on Tuesday, October 19th at 7 pm in Anchor D. Arena.
